Social Media Video for Galleries

Helping galleries overcome the algorithm by producing professional video content to ultimately grow a collector base.

Turn exhibitions, artists’ new work, announcements, studio practices, artist talks and art fairs into content that engages your audience

Social media feels like a game

that you can’t quite win, and with everyone at the gallery maxed out, your iPhone videos are what you have to work with.

But… your Instagram following isn’t growing as fast as you hoped, the algorithm is stunting your views, and you’re using social media as an announcement platform instead of getting collector leads.

The solution is simple: make really effective reels that stop the scrolls.

But if it were that easy, you’d already be doing it.

There are ways to make effective social videos that get results, like this reel I made for an artist studio visit.

The keys to making effective social content

This reel performed so well for multiple reasons:

  1. The story is interesting

  2. The format of the reel is preferable for the algorithm

  3. This artist consistently posts quality content

  4. There is a clear action for the viewer

  5. The video and audio is high quality

These characteristics lead to these results…

The cool thing about knowing what to do to get results is that we can aim for a goal by strategizing content, instead of posting for the sake of a post.

For example, if the ultimate goal is to get more collectors, the purpose of Instagram could be to turn viewers into email subscribers for a specific artist.

how it works

Every project is built around your goals, so the “menu” is tailored for each client. Most engagements include:

- A planning call to define audience, goals and reference materials

- On-site filming

- Edited videos delivered in vertical (social) and/or horizontal (website, YouTube) formats

- Delivery within an agreed turnaround, typically one to two weeks depending on project size.
